Foreseers – EQ2 vs. WoW

So, I archive Haemish comment on the struggle between WoW and EQ2. The next few months will be fun.

The difference between WoW and EQ2 is that the setting of EQ2 has been done in this genre before. The setting of WoW, not to mention the fanbois, will give it around 200k subscriptions, while I think EQ2 as it currently is structured, will hover between 50k-100k.

My prevision:

What I really believe and predict, instead, is that WoW+EQ2 release will make the whole panorama unstable. I expect subscription numbers of other games to oscillate WAY MORE.

But considering the high tolerance of players I believe that EQ2 will settle at around 200-250k.

My prevision on WoW hasn’t changed. 400k in six months. With the time I expect WoW to outperform EQ2 even more.

I’ll publish tonight (if I have time) a complete coverage about EQ2, listing all the interesting sources of information I’m following. The end of NDA is always the most interesting event for a game of this relevance.
