There’s currently an exploit on the test servers confirmed and tolerated by Blizzard QA, so you can “exploit” it if you like (it’s openly discussed on the test forums right now). Basically you can copy a character to the test server repeatedly, this also means that you can clone its stuff and gold, so it shouldn’t be hard to multiply your wealth in order to buy an epic mount.
You are too lazy to copy but want to know what’s happening on Test? Not much. It’s a boring zergfest, all the main hotspots like Crossroad or even Ogrimmar are covered by corpses. Everyone is complaying about the resulting graphical and net lag that makes the game unplayable, in particular if you are messing with a raid. Everyone is asking for an /hidecorpse command but it’s rather obvious that a tweak of the decay timers could be more effective without disrupting the environment with personal client commands. For the rest there are complaints everywhere about the classes but I’m fucking tired of all those discussions.
Oh, and the PvP is also showing its design limits in these large battles. You know, it wasn’t designed for this type of scenario and the gameplay will suffer strongly this approach. But is this new? Again everyone with some mmorpg and PvP experience could easily notice that WoW wasn’t designed and balanced for large battlefields.
My proposed battle system is still lying on a corner.
Blizzard will soon notice that this bland approach will be boring and unappealing for the largest part of their subscribers. The battlegrounds could help to “refresh” the taste for a month at maximum but without some serious development on a deeper and more involving system (also open to everyone and not just the renowned catasses) it’s not going far.
Oh, and still noone was able to figure out how the ranks are distributed. You just catass for the win till your finger fall on the ground. Maybe tomorrow you’ll gain or lose something.
